Our Team

Dr Lucy Walker
Principal Chartered Clinical Psychologist, CPsychol, DClinPsy, BSc (Hons)
I qualified as a Clinical Psychologist at the University of Leeds in 2001, following a first degree in psychology and time spent in the field of adult mental health services.  During my doctorate I specialised in Child and Adolescent Mental Health and worked in the NHS for over 11 years in well-established Child and Adolescent Mental Health services, with a specific interest in Autism Spectrum Disorder. I ultimately led the multi-disciplinary team for children with ASD in the service locality, conducting specific assessments with children and families. I am trained in Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) assessments, and cognitive assessments using a range of specific instruments widely recognised for young people.

I also continue to work part time within the NHS as Clinical Psychologist for Paediatric Diabetes in Gateshead, alongside my Paediatric doctors and nursing colleagues.  Within this I work flexibly with children, young people, and parents/carers.

I have special interests in more general mental health matters such as Anxiety, Mood difficulties and Family/relationship issues with young people. I work in an integrative therapeutic model, utilising CBT, Family Therapy, and ACT.
Dr Lynn Barrett

As well as providing specialist mental health services to children, young people and their families for over 25 years I  was active in the establishment and delivery, over a long period, of services to children on the Autistic Spectrum in whom I have a special interest.
