Our assessments are thoughtful and thorough. Many people are now offered rapid online assessments. While these can be helpful in some situations, they can miss important context and nuance. Our approach is different.We provide careful, face-to-face Multi-Disciplinary Autism and ADHD assessments that explore developmental history, current experiences and the wider context of each person’s life. This allows us to build a clear and accurate understanding, rather than relying on a brief or one-dimensional picture.Our aim is not simply to provide a diagnosis, but to offer understanding that supports individuals and families moving forward.

All of our assessments are with a Multi-disciplinary Team and conform to NICE Guidelines (National Institute of Clinical Excellence), and we work well together with Local Authorities and Health Services. Initial appointment(s) – Specialised Clinical interview(s) with parents/carers (and child, dependent on age) to gather information and decide what assessments are necessary2. School/Nursery Observation or Liaison (dependent on age)3. ADOS 2 – Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule – if appropriate (ASD focus)4. Specialist Speech and Language Assessment – if appropriate (ASD focus)5. Specialised Standardised Questionnaires6. Feedback and full comprehensive report7. Post-diagnostic support and intervention planAdult (18+) Assessments1. Initial appointment – Specialised Clinical interview(s) with individual (and friend/relative if you wish) to gather information and decide what assessments are necessary2. Information from a friend or relative who can give a third party perspective (in person/questionnaire/phone)3. ADOS 2 – Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule – if appropriate (ASD focus)4. We usually complete the assessments within 4 to 6 weeks of the initial appointment. When people are travelling to us from a distance we try to do as much as we can in one visit to minimise trips.

Once an assessment is complete, we meet up with clients to let them know the outcome and diagnosis and what we consider to be the individual’s strengths and needs.  A comprehensive report is provided and is shared with the GP and any other people involved, such as school, college, work or other professionals. We provide feedback meetings with schools, colleges, and Employers to support changes that would be helpful following the assessment.Post-diagnostic Therapy and Support is available, as we have a very good understanding of our clients following assessments and can base our sessions on each individual's strengths and needs.
