Dr Ellie Dennison is a Principal Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years’ experience working in NHS child and adolescent services across the North East. Since qualifying in 2003, Ellie has specialised in neurodevelopmental assessment, with a particular focus on Autism. She has played a key role in developing multi-disciplinary pathways for assessment and diagnosis within NHS services and continues to contribute to this work as a clinical lead. Ellie currently works part-time as Lead Psychologist within the Newcastle and Gateshead Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team, alongside her role at Autism North East.

Ellie's Approach To Work
Ellie works in a thoughtful and holistic way, with a strong commitment to understanding the whole person.
She has particular experience in working with young people whose presentations are complex, including where neurodevelopmental differences overlap with mental health needs or other conditions.
​Her work focuses on recognising and supporting both strengths and difficulties, helping individuals and families to develop a clearer and more balanced understanding of their experiences.
​Ellie is passionate about helping young people thrive when their neurodevelopmental differences are understood, valued and supported.
Leadership and Training
Ellie has extensive experience in leadership, training and supervision within Multi-Disciplinary Teams.
​She provides specialist training to clinicians and contributes to regional and national ADOS training programmes, supporting professionals to develop their skills in Autism assessment.
