Autism North East - Feedback Meeting
What happens at the end of the assessment?

Following the MDT diagnostic meeting we see our clients for a feedback appointment to discuss the outcome of the assessment, any diagnosis that has been made and what we consider to be the individual’s strengths and needs. It is a chance to talk through any questions you might have about the assessment and the conclusions/diagnosis, and to think about recommendations for now and the future.

We also routinely meet up with Schools, Colleges and Employers to discuss potential support and changes that would be helpful in those environments following assessment.

Post-diagnostic Therapy and Support can be hugely helpful - we have a very good understanding of our clients following assessments and are able to tailor sessions specifically to each individual.
A comprehensive report is provided and shared with the GP and any other people involved such as school, college, work or other professionals.

What if a diagnosis is not given?

Whilst we generally find that by the time people have found our service they are doing the right thing seeking a Neurodevelopmental assessment, sometimes our assessments result in a different issue being identified as being at the centre of what clients are experiencing.
We always give a thorough and detailed explanation of what we think may be the main issue, and discuss what options for therapy and support are available.
