Autism North East - Initial Consultation

Initial Consultation with Clinician

When we meet our clients for the first time, we spend around 60-90 minutes talking through what brings them to us at this time, what they are hoping for from assessment and how we can help.  We reach an agreement about what assessment will be needed to gain a really good understanding of the individual and we make a plan which outlines elements of assessments including their dates and times. We then send a follow up email so that it is clearly in writing for you to refer to.

I cried with relief after our initial appointment after being so deflated after a previous experience elsewhere, everything was handled extremely professionally and explained to me in great detail from initial enquiry to the final report and recommendations

Autism North East became a beacon in a time that as a family we found ourselves lost in many ways.

Life is still difficult but we have a foundation now to build on. Reasons, knowledge and understanding.

I couldn’t recommend this company enough, they also follow NICE guidelines and the assessments are valid for use of NHS services and for schooling purposes.

Autism North East was set up in 2013 in response to the negative changes that were taking place in the NHS where clinicians were being asked to work in ways that didn't fit with their professional values.

We wanted to ensure that extremely high quality, rigorous assessments would always be available so that people could access the right diagnosis and support quickly. Our values around providing an ethical service led us to set the service up as a not-for-profit organisation.
